Add Italian sausage and continue to simmer until the sausage is thoroughly heated. Return the soup to the saucepan along with the sausage and season with salt and pepper. Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish. Add the rice, season with salt and pepper, remove from heat, mix in the parsley and enjoy! Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
