Uttapam or ooththappam or Uthappa is a classic South Indian food but is legendary all through India and throughout the world. Steps to make Bread Uttapam:
  1. Grind bread slice in a mixer and make bread crumbs. Now add bread crumbs, semolina, curd and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Add some water. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Chop onion, tomato, capsicum and coriander leaves. Grate ginger.
  3. Now mix all chopped vegetables in bread batter and mix.
  4. Add red chilli powder and chaat masala. Mix well. Add little water to make it pouring consistency.
  5. Heat a non stick griddle. Brush it with cooking oil and pour a ladle full of batter and spread with the help of spetula. Cook on low flame. Spread little oil all around the cheela. Cook for 2 minutes. Now flip the side and fry from other side also.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
