I grew up eating miso soup made various ways. This is a good basic miso soup. I always use Shiro Miso, which is a white miso (less salty) than the Aka Miso, red miso paste.

  2. Make ready 1/2 cup chopped green onion

  5. Take 1 sheet (1/4 cup) nori (dried seaweed), cut into large rectangle

Steps to make Miso soup:
  1. Place water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a low simmer.

  4. Add remaining ingredients to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes or so.
