This crab salad is a blend of imitation crab, vegetables and herbs, all tossed in a simple creamy dressing. A quick and easy salad that's perfect served over lettuce, with crackers, or in a sandwich. In a large bowl stir together crab, bell pepper, celery, red onion, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, and old bay seasoning. Deli Crab Salad isn't even made with real crab meat it is made with imitation crab meat.
Instructions to make Crab Salad Crackers:
- In a pot add the crabs, beer, wine, and lemon slice and cook on medium heat for 10 mins or til the crabs are hot.
- Let the crabs cool for 5 mins.
- Crack the crabs, take out the meat, and put in a bowl (discard the crab shells).
- Next add all of the crab salad ingredients except the mayo and Ritz crackers and mix slowly.
- Add the mayo and mix till your desire consistency.
- On a plate spread out the crackers and add a spoon full the salad on top of the cracker.
- Garnish with parsley, serve and enjoy.
Super cheap and it is easy. Refrigerate for at least an hour to allow flavors to meld. Serve atop shredded lettuce, on split top hoagie rolls, with crackers, or stuffed into an avocado or fresh tomato. Cook's Notes: May substitute all crab, half imitation lobster and/or imitation crab, or all imitation crab or lobster. Add some cooked small salad shrimp if you like.
