- spread remaining bread crumbs on a plate. heat butter and olive oil in a saute pan over medium.
- form crab mixture into 6-8 patties and dredge in remaining 3/4 c. bread crumbs.
- when pan is hot, place crab cakes in pan and cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side.
I did add old bay, used a little extra crabmeat and rolled them lightly in bread crumbs mixed with parmesan cheese because I wanted to seal in the flavor and wasn't sure if they would stay together properly without. Finally an easy and delicious crab cake recipe! I made the crab cakes for our Italian Christmas Eve Fish dinner and everyone LOVED them. A dash of Worchestershire sauce is also an optional addition. These Maryland crab cakes get the stamp of approval from locals and out-of-towners alike.
